The Premise
What happens here
Each conversation opens with a question and stays with it. The question gets broken into the smaller questions it contains, each taken up in turn. My interlocutor and I arrive from schools that are sometimes neighboring and sometimes far apart, and where our readings diverge, the divergence counts as the yield of the hour.
Something has gone quiet between the analytic traditions. They publish in separate journals, train in separate institutes, and describe overlapping phenomena in vocabularies that have drifted apart. These conversations are one attempt at translation.
